Paul McCoy, President and co-founder of Trans-Elect

Trans-Elect was the first independent electric transmission company in North America. The company purchased the
transmission assets of Consumers Energy in Michigan and became a co-general partner of a consortium that acquired the transmission assets of TransAlta in Alberta Canada.  Trans-Elect also partnered with Pacific Gas and Electric and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Western Area Power Administration to develop California's Path 15 transmission line.

Before co-founding Trans-Elect, McCoy spent 27 years at Commonwealth Edison. At ComEd, he served for 7 years as a member of the senior executive policy team, and had direct responsibility for the planning, design, operation, and construction functions for the company’s transmission and distribution systems.
