Dan Kirby, AIA, AICP, LEED AP, NCARB is the managing principal of Premiere Cities Group and a registered architect and certified urban planner. He is also an NCARB-certified architect and a LEED Accredited Professional. Dan has had management and design responsibilities on a variety of projects including mixed-use, multi-family communities, hospitality, renovations, campus planning, retail and convention facilities. Dan has been responsible for development, design, scheduling and management of projects throughout the United States and abroad.He is a commissioner on the five-member governing board of OUC-The Reliable One, Florida's second largest municipally-owned utility. He has served as director of development services for Hill International (formerly Boyken International), as director of development for a design-build company and as a design studio director for an architecture firm. He also worked for the City of Orlando's Bureau of City Planning and was an adjunct instructor in the project management program at the Keller Graduate School of Management. Dan is President-Elect of the Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects. He has served as an advisory member of the national board of directors for the American Planning Association and Chair of the Alumni Board of Governors for the Taubman College of Architecture & Urban Planning at the University of Michigan. He has served as a member of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer's Downtown Strategic Transition Team, Historic Preservation Board, Mayor's Committee on Sustainability, Chair of the Maitland Planning & Zoning Commission and Vice Chair of the Orange County Urban Design Commission. |

Advancing innovation in energy efficiency, renewable energy and state-of-the-art power systems will be critical in addressing these challenges. Join Lloyd Yates, president and CEO of Progress Energy Carolinas as he shares his company's strategy for navigating the changing energy landscape and securing our energy future.Lloyd Yates is president and chief executive officer of Progress Energy Carolinas. The utility is a subsidiary of Progress Energy, a Raleigh, N.C.- based Fortune 500 company serving 3.1 million customers in North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida. Yates has more than 30 years of experience in the energy business, includ- ing nuclear and fossil generation and energy delivery. He began his current role in July, 2007, after serving more than two years as senior vice presi- dent, Energy Delivery. Previously, Yates served as vice president, Transmis- sion, for Progress Energy Carolinas from 2003 to 2005. He also served as vice president, Fossil Generation, from 1998 to 2003. He came to then- CP&L from PECO Energy, where he served in a number of engineering and management roles over 16 years. |
